Before Ironport Became Ironport

Before IRONPORT: The Message became a novel, and before the comic reached the look it has today, there was this.
A short motion comic.
At the time, I was still experimenting with how I wanted the world of Ironport to look and feel. I was creating the characters and scenes in iClone, then using ChatGPT to rework those images into something closer to the style I had in my head.
This was during a strange stage of the project where I was trying to do just about everything at once.
I was working on the comic book.
I was experimenting with AI-generated artwork.
And apparently, somewhere in the middle of all of that, I decided I also needed to make a motion comic.
Because clearly I didn’t already have enough to do.
The version you are about to see comes from an earlier stage of the story. Alexis looked
different. The artwork was different. Some of the scenes and ideas eventually changed as the project continued to grow.
The story itself also became much larger than I originally expected.
What started as a screenplay years ago eventually became a comic book project, and from there it expanded into the novel that became IRONPORT: The Message.
Looking back at this motion comic now, I can see a lot of things I would do differently.
But I can also see the point where the world started coming together.
This was one of the first times Alexis began to feel less like a character I had created on a computer and more like someone who actually belonged in Ironport.
The city was starting to take shape.
The mood was getting darker.
And the story was beginning to become something much bigger than the project I originally planned.
So I decided not to let this little experiment disappear into one of the many folders on my computer.
Instead, I thought it would be interesting to share it as a glimpse into an earlier version of Alexis and the world of Ironport.
Think of it as a small piece of the project’s history.
The artwork has changed.
The characters have evolved.
The story has expanded.
But this was part of the road that eventually led to the final version of IRONPORT.
I hope you enjoy this early look at the world.
And after you watch it, let me know what you think.
IRONPORT: The Message arrives November 3, 2026 on Amazon.
