Demon - Audio Horror Story
That demon that resides inside of me is sleeping, not dead. You might not realize this, but I understand. It has been a long time since I allowed it out to play. But that doesn't mean it is dead and gone.
No, it is still there in a deep sleep. It is getting its rest, conserving its energy, and waiting for the day. For the day that it can attack these unprepared fools.
They are fools. Fools, to continue to try to provoke me. Fools for putting me down. To think they are better than me. Fools to think I'm defenseless.
I tried my best to avoid them. To keep the peace. Avoid them, not because I fear what they may do to me, but because I know what the sleeping demon will do to them. I have first-hand knowledge of its power, ruthlessness, and savagery. They do not realize how much they benefit from not having me awaken the demon.
Day after day, I did my best to stay clear. To stay calm. To stay silent. I wanted the demon to remain asleep to avoid becoming aware of anything that would provoke it to wake up and make its presence known. I tried so hard.
They wouldn’t have it, though. As hard as I tried to avoid them, they tried harder to reach my path. To provoke me. To push me. To make so much noise that it was only a matter of time before the demon would awake. To awake and unleash its rage.
Today, they pushed too far, unaware of what they had done. Unaware that I no longer cared to tiptoe around the sleeping demon. I no longer cared for it to stay asleep. I feel it begin to go through the wake-up process, and I was not going to do anything to stop it.
Awake, my dear demon, for you have slept for too long. Now it is time for you to become aware of what was happening around us, and it is time for you to do what you do best. It was time for you to unleash your destructive force creatively and painfully.
For years, I used to have nightmares from its past outbursts. The blood and the victim’s screams haunted me for so long. Not wanting to be a witness to anything like that again, I did my best to keep people safe from it. Feeling that no one deserved the punishment that you provided.
Not this time, though. After all they did and all they would continue to do if not stopped, I have no problems with what is to come. They are more than deserving of their fate.
As the demon opens its eyes, unseen by anyone but me, I feel the evil burn. This time, I can guarantee that I will not have any nightmares about what is to come. No worries and no regrets. This is what has to happen. No doubt.
As their cries of mercy pierce my ears, I enjoy every moment.
